Teacher/Learning Support

Hi,
I love teaching and have been a teacher for over 35 years. I especially
love working in an alternative setting, because it allows me to connect
with students in unique and meaningful ways that traditional
classrooms sometimes can't. In these settings, I have the freedom to
tailor my approach to fit each student's individual needs and
interests, fostering a more personal and engaging learning
experience. The flexibility and creativity involved in designing lessons
that resonate with diverse learners not only make teaching more
fulfilling but also inspire a sense of shared discovery and growth.
Witnessing students thrive in an environment that supports their
unique learning styles is incredibly rewarding and reaffirms my
passion for education.
My role at LASP is the learning support teacher and science
specialist.
As the LST I assist students with diverse learning needs, helping
them to achieve their academic potential. We collaborate closely with
the student, parents, & classroom teachers to develop individualized
education plans and implement targeted interventions, ensuring that
each student receives the support they need to succeed. I will do my
best to assist and provide the accommodations that facilitate a
positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
As one of the science specialists, I mark the chemistry 20 & 30 and
physics 20 & 30 for the distributed learning courses. I am also in the
learning commons for tutorial time to assist in any science course. If
you need any assistance in these areas, please reach out to me and I
will be happy to assist you.
